The province of Almeria is situated in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, on the shores of the Mediterranean and the coast line is approx. 120 km long. It is Europe's warmest and sunniest region, with over 3000 hours of sunshine a year and the temperatures throughout the year are mild, reaching no lower than an average of 12ºC in winter, and no more than an average of 26ºC in summer.

With its unspoilt coastline, national parks, mountains and valleys provides an overwhelming sense of space, and offers an exiting new world to be explored. The Inland has an almost lunar landscape of desert, sandstone and dried up river beds and has long been a popular choice for filming adventure and western style epics.

Some of the most popular coastal resorts include Roquetas de Mar, Aguadulce and Mojacar. This region offers a wealth of leisure activities for all tastes: swimming, sunbathing, sea fishing, scuba diving and windsurfing, superb mountain walks and archaeological exploration, golf, tennis, lawn bowling and horse riding. Within a few hours drive are the famous ski-slopes of the Sierra Nevada, the Altitude of which allows a long season of winter sports and within easy reach are the famous historical landmarks such as the Alhambra at Granada and the Mosque at Cordoba.
